Literary Baby
Thanks to Laura, Kara and Grandma Joanne for the books! Ava's begun to adeptly manipulate them herself. Of course, we read lots of books to her, but whether in our laps or playing on the floor, she likes to take some agency with them.

Terhune with Grandpa Lee and Grandma Joanne
Grandpa Lee and Grandma Joanne visited Monday and Tuesday. We had a lovely visit to Terhune this morning.
This was fabulous. A farm cat was hanging out in the middle of the catnip starts for sale. Whether due to the mellowing effects of the catnip or a patient nature, the cat let Ava pet it.
Three generations of Osnases fascinated by ducks and geese.
Mega close-up!
She loves to watch dish washing. Ava is helping Mommy rinse dishes.
Balloon
A very nice couple were celebrating a birthday at a table next to us at a restaurant. Ava was most interested in both them and the balloon, which they kindly left with us. The fascination with the balloon has lasted for days.
She got the balloon trapped in her jungle by herself:
Is Andrew more interesting than the balloon? You decide.
Playing with the balloon worked up quite an appetite. Ava is eating more and more solid food. Here she's putting away a few tablespoons of banana-egg yolk-boiled carrot.

Saturday
Katye and Sarah visited, read to Ava and accompanied her to the park! Awesome!
Then Ava had a power nap with Daddy before the three of us headed out to the NJ shore to Leonardo Beach to fish for bluefish for a while. Ava loved playing in the sand and putting her toes into the ocean for the first time! Then we headed over to Sandy Hook to walk around the beautiful blooming sand dune shrub communities.

Things in mouth (assorted but by no means exhaustive sample from this week)
Mommy's necklace;
Garlic head;Banana
(and pleased about it);
digestif bottle of water after an entree of broccoli, which she really liked this time around!

Visit from the MacMenge crew
Lunch in the sun on campus, hanging out, and a goose dinner. Good day. Ava was most pleased to make Elin's acquaintance and intently observed Elin's advanced baby moves.
