Happy Mother's Day!

Ava, Daddy and the beautiful weather made Mommy's first Mother's Day a huge success.  Ava was in a splendid mood this morning, playing with the wet wash cloth after we wiped her face with it following bananas and yogurt.  She likes to suck the water out of wet wash cloths.  We let her.

Daddy surprised Mommy with delicious homemade crepes (gluten free!) with strawberries and cream.  Ava had her first taste of strawberry.  Big hit.

We had a beautiful hike today in the Baldplate Mountain woods.  Ava was most patient with Mommy and Daddy's frequent birding stops.

Ava is not a fan of keeping her hat on.  Mommy and Daddy will work on this.

We took a break to sit on a nice lawn with buttercups.  Thanks to Dana for Ava's beautiful outfit!

Howell Living History Farm

We capitalized on the beautiful warm weather and went to the Howell Living History Farm (http://www.howellfarm.org/) today.  Beautiful animals, grounds and historic farm equipment.  Ava's first time seeing pigs!

Mutual investigation:

Ava explores the hay meadow:

Daddy got attacked by a goose.  Karma.

We stopped by Terhune Orchards on the way back.  Last week when we were there we noticed that one of their domestic geese (similar to the one that attacked Daddy above) had adopted a family of wild Canada geese.  The goose is still defending his adopted family.
