Movie night with a neighbor
Halloween "Trick-or-teering/Orien-treating" organized by a friend. I think 7 families participated. We met behind the local high school, an entrance to the nearby extensive forest trail system. The organizers had a map of the nearby trails for every family, markers, and flagging tape. An adult from each family hid a bag of treats along the trail system, flagged its location, and marked its spot on all the maps. Then each family used the map to find all the treats. We finished up at a friend's house, where we proved that we could all successfully have an outdoor pizza dinner party in 12-degree weather when there is a roaring fire pit and Rosemary is allowed to stay inside and eat candy the entire time.

Bringing in firewood has been one of Ava's chores recently.
Walking the dog at least as far as the closest park is now Rosemary's daily chore. Ava and friends are often roped into this activity.
Rosemary has been crafting felt clothing for her stuffies. Her enthusiasm about a recent spate of bibs led to our capitulation on allowing "Otter-y" to join us for dinner.
Neighbor
We are now homeschooling Rosemary. Yesterday's math lesson involved practicing 3-digit numbers and addition while weighing focaccia ingredients with the digital scale. Rosemary is a fan of kneading.
