We weighed Rosemary on the kitchen scale this morning. It says she weighs 9 lbs 15.25 oz, so nearly a full 1.5 lbs above birth weight. We think our scale is reasonably accurate (it thought a 5 lb bag of flour weighed 4 lbs 15.75 oz). The scale's capacity is 11 lbs, so not many more opportunities to do this.

First bath in the sink. Ava helped with the washcloth.

Rosemary looks so small in the bouncy seat!

She is giving us lots of newborn smiles.

 And yawns.

We are figuring out the art of reading to two kids at once.

Grace visited and brought unbelievably wonderful things to eat.

Ava is being a very helpful big sister, although Rosemary is not always appreciative of her efforts.

Seriousness.

And serious love for her new My Little Pony from Grandma and Grandpa.

And serious pride in taking her own bag to the farmer's market.

Rosemary Elaine

A very healthy 8.5 lb, 21-inch Rosemary Elaine arrived at 7:55 p.m. on July 5th.

Grandma and Grandpa (Daddy's stepmom and dad) are here helping us with her arrival. Grandma is a favorite cuddle partner:

Ava has been having a wonderful time with grandparents and Ines as we awaited and have enjoyed Rosemary's arrival.

Unfortunately, Ima (Daddy's mom) missed Rosemary's birth by a day. Here Ava teaches her about "pond life."
