Memorial Day hike up Flattop Mountain (Mommy, Daddy, and Rosemary); and adjacent Peak Two for Ava and our neighbor. The yellow arrow in the inset topo map below shows approximately where the trails for the backside of Flattop Mountain and Peak Two diverge. Mommy, Daddy, and Rosemary could look across the valley and see Ava and Sue ascending the snow field, where they are barely visible dots in the red circle in the photo. Ava and Sue went up and over Peak Two and descended in the valley between Peak Two and Peak Three. Ava climbed Flattop with Daddy last year (via the more difficult "front side" northern route), and this was her first ascent of Peak Two. Yesterday was Rosemary's first ascent of Flattop. She did amazingly well.
