One more shoulder ride before Daddy heads to Saskatchewan for a week of hunting.
Daddy also taught Ava how to whisk. Here she demonstrates the important skill of whisking water.
Ava was so pleased she was able to attend Alex and Jenna's apple tasting party.
She did, however, sleep through most of it.
Ava has a new friend! Penelope is 2 weeks older than Ava. Penelope and Ava's mommies are swapping childcare 4 mornings a week. Week 1 was a major success!
Ava shows off her super fast crawling.
Penelope demonstrates the delicate skill of whisking in the tunnel.
Ima and Odie dog are visiting! This is a very good thing.
Swinging is also a very good thing.
We checked out the National Arboretum, which isn't terribly far from our house. Mommy was most taken with the National Herb Garden, where this gorgeous sorghum specimen grows.
Ava especially liked the lawn in the parking lot at the Arboretum. She shows Ima some interesting dried grass and sprouting acorns and dried leaves.
Ava wants to interact with Odie dog. Odie dog wants to interact with the squirrel he's watching.
A perk of northern DC is delivery from an awesome dairy located north of here. Ava's daddy ordered 20 pounds of butter, delivered in a large frozen block. His vision is to cut it up into 1-lb chunks and re-freeze it. He can have fun with that. It is pretty cool.
No rest for the Odie dog. Wake up, Odie dog!
Awesome squash at the local Riverdale Park farmers' market. Our new neighbor Pat helped start the market years ago and was selling these awesome squash for a farmer friend of hers. Ava is most pleased with the acquisition of an Amish pie pumpkin (the big pale orange pumpkin behind her right elbow).
Ava also likes to visit neighbor Pat's patio chairs.
