End of summer, beginning of fall.

The last backpacking trip of the summer: Rabbit Lakes. 5 adults, 8 kids, 3 dogs. None of the kids had been to the Lakes before (4 miles each way). When we reached the last rise from which we could finally see the Lakes, Rosemary and her friend literally gasped. "It's so beautiful!" Photos here. Strong hikers!

Mommy's last run for a while--a gorgeous 14 miles in the mountains that definitely determined that my right IT band needs to rest and receive lots of time intensive and expensive therapy! Photos here.

Ice on the local horse arena. Not smooth or strong enough for skates.
Out of town visitors!

Rosemary was fascinated by (greenhouse-grown) eggplant at the farmer's market. We made baba ganoush and ratatouille.
