Sunday afternoon, Sandy Hook. Daddy and Andrew fished for a while, and while there was a lull in the fishing, Daddy bundled Ava in the Maya sling wrap under his windbreaker and took her on a walk down the beach. Kara and Mommy mostly hung out with Ava in the tent, with a few walks up and down the beach. While a bit windy, the weather was warm and sunny on the hike out to the point, but the rain clouds rolled in shortly thereafter, and the temperature dropped. The tent, however, was warm and dry and cozy. Ava was content 98% of the time. She expressed interest in Mommy's frame backpack (mouthed it, stared and cooed at it, applied spit up to it during diaper change), which is a good sign. All in all, a successful excursion. The fishing, however, was lacking. Key item, in addition to the tent, was the travel changing pad from Aunt Laura and Serge. That thing is great. Other key item: Baby Legs leg warmers from Grandma Randi. We want more. Oh, and her ear flap hat, which was part of a bunch of really high quality baby girl clothes we found in a retro suitcase next to a dumpster in some of the grad student housing a week or two after we found out we were pregnant. Seriously. Downside: mosquitos. Ava got a bite. Thanks to Kara for the great pictures (except for the picture that she's in--Daddy took that one)!
